4 Must do’s in Key Largo

We’re going to Key West but we will make a stop at Key Largo first. So here are my must do’s in Key Largo!

1) Everglades

On our way from Sarasota to Key Largo, we stopped at the Everglades. So you can take the airboat on the Everglades, see an alligator nest and learn more about the crocodiles and alligators (you can see the distinction in their snouts).

Tip: You can also visit the Everglades when you’re in Miami.

2) Reserve Key Largo

Also take the opportunity to visit a mangrove to search for wildlife like crocodiles, manatees and even maybe sharks. We saw an incredible dangerous raccoon…

3) Seven Mile Bridge Key Largo

The 7-mile long bridge is one of the longest bridges in the world. It’s around 10 km long and you’ll ride it when you are going to Key West. Enjoy the blue sight. The old bridge is now used for pedestrians and cyclists.

4) Beach, please

Oh yeah, Key Largo also has white beaches! So take your snorkel with you and go have a beach day!

Warning: So it was a bit cloudy and windy in the evening (see photo). We decided to take a swim but I had this feeling in my gut that the water could not be trusted. My brother laughed at me and tried to scare me. You couldn’t see the bottom when you were standing in the water and nobody else was swimming. Afterward, we saw a sign saying to look out for Sting Rays when the weather is bad. Luck was on our side that day…

Would you visit the Everglades?
