4 must do’s in Sarasota

So after spending 3 days in theme parks in Orlando, we needed a break. What better way than relaxing at the white beaches in Sarasota? Here are my must do’s in Sarasota.

1) Unconditional Surrender Sculpture

This sculpture is part of a series made by Seward Johnson resembling a photograph by Alfred Eisenstaedt. First, the statue was installed in Sarasota. Afterward, the statue was moved to San Diego, California and New York City. In 2009, the statue returned to the city.

Sad Fact: A car crash in 2012 damaged the statue.

Tip: The parking lot behind the statue is free of charge for several hours. The harbor is just a 5-minute walk away.

2) Harbor

If you’re looking for a place to eat something fancy, then go to the harbor. After your meal, you can enjoy walking down the harbor and downtown.

Tip: The harbor is a great spot to watch the sunset!

3) Siesta Key Beach

This beach has received many awards. It’s the whitest and finest sand in the world, the best sand beach in America, the best beach in America, etc. The name says it all, so we had to take a siesta on this beach.

4) Nature Reserve

Visiting a Nature reserve can actually be done everywhere in Florida. We did it in Titusville, Orlando, Sarasota, and Key Largo. You can try to spot Manatees and alligators in the Mangrove. You’re also able to spot crocodiles and alligators in the Everglades. You can also get a course to learn more about the birds that are living in the swamps.

Would you love to spend some time in Sarasota?
