1) Palacios Nazaries
So the fort of Alhambra is a fort built in 800, but Nasrid emir Mohammed ben Al-Ahmar renovated the place to become his royal residence. The Palacios Nazaries is the main attraction of Alhambra. They used to be the residences of the Moorish Kings. Every King added something to the palace which made the palace super unique.
Palacio de Comares
The Palacio de Comares was the residence of all the kings. The Torre de Comares is right next to the Palacio de Comares. The tower has a room called the Salón de Los Embajadores. This room is the biggest room in the Alhambra.
Palacio de los Leones
The Palacio de los Leones is super beautiful! Discover the marble gallery and don’t forget to look at the ceiling!
2) Charles V Palace
The Charles V Palace was built in 1637 for Charles V. His grandparents chased the Moorish people away and to celebrate that, the palace was built in their honor.
3) De Generalife
The Generalife consists of the summer palace and its adjacent gardens. The palace was built in the 14th century and the gardens were created in 1931. Stroll around and don’t forget to take some photos!
Fun Fact: The gardens are using the Morish irrigation system.
4) Alcazaba
The Alcazaba is the citadel and the oldest part of Alhambra. The fort of Alhambra looks over Granada, go to the Torre de la Vela for an amazing view. It looks a bit like the one we have in Namur but way bigger and more beautiful!
Tip: It’s very hot during the day so bring enough water with you!
