Lagos | Portugal

Lagos is known for its beautiful beaches: Praia Dona Ana, Praia do Camilo and Ponta da Piedade (not a beach). Take for sure a boat ride to behold these beautiful beaches in Portugal.

Praia Dona Ana

To have a good view of these beaches (read no tourists and no umbrellas), you should visit them in the morning (9am). At that time, you can experience their beauty at its fullest, the real paradise. If you visit it later, it would be overrun with tourists, kayaks and boats. We first went to Praia Dona Ana and it was stunning. Never seen anything like it.

Ponta da Piedade

Afterward, we went to Ponta da Piedade and Praia do Camilo. To reach the Ponta da Piedade you need to take the stairs downwards. Totally worth it, if you have bad stamina! Good work out for those legs and but! 😉

Praia do Camilo is near the Ponta da Piedade.

Boat ride!

After seeing these beaches, we went to Lagos and got on a boat tour. The tour took us along the shore and told us the names of all the rocks. There were rocks shaped in the form of an elephant, gorilla, boat, shoe, a scale, and even a dromedary.  This boat ride also passed by the Praia Dona Ana, Praia do Camilo and Ponta da Piedade.

Lagos city

After our little ride, we wandered off to Lagos city. We first came across the harbor which reminded us of Cannes. Entering the city, we came across a building that has a yellow pastel facade. Later I found out it was the police building. When we walked the streets of Lagos we eventually came out to the most famous green-tiled house in Lagos!
