The first stop of my school’s 2013 Italy Itinerary is Pisa! It’s a perfect stop before you go to Florence! Here are my must do’s in Pisa.

Discover the Piazza Dei Miracoli
The Piazza
1) Leaning Tower
The leaning tower is a must-do when you are in Pisa. For €18 you can climb the tower to have an amazing view of the city. The ticket will also give you access to the cathedral. It is estimated the tower will fall in 2220, so climbing the tower is without risk!
Fun Fact: Go early to avoid all tourists posing in front of the leaning tower.
2) Cathedral of Santa Maria dell’ Assunta
This cathedral is also located on the Square of Miracles, near the leaning tower. It is one of the most beautiful Italian churches due to its white-marble façade. Don’t forget to take a look inside! We didn’t have the time to do this as the waiting line was just too long.
3) Battistero San Giovanni
This is the biggest Baptistery in the world! Just as the leaning tower, it took over 200 years to construct it. The chapel also contains a pulpit by Nicola Pisano: the first pulpit ever that was not attached to a wall or pillar.
