5 must do’s in Clearwater | Canada

Clearwater was so much better than Blue River although 2 days in Clearwater is enough. Here are my must do’s in Clearwater!

Wells Gray Provincial Park

1) Wild Water Rafting Clearwater

We did rafting with Interior Whitewater Rafting on the Clearwater River through Wells Gray Provincial Park. the rafting is done in 2 parts. The first part is super short and with almost no rapids. Then you’ll walk a bit in the forest to check out a level 6 rapid. After that, you’ll do the second part of rafting (which is way better than the 1st part).

Scary Fact: At one point, we could jump into the water and swim, but the water was too dangerous. I kept getting water up to my nose and couldn’t breathe. I went back to the raft when suddenly our guide had to pull 5 people back to the raft with rope (last saving middle). Our guide told us it turned out to be more dangerous than it looked, but thank god for his quick actions.

2) Spahats Falls

Spahats Falls is a 60 meters high waterfall with a Belgian waffle and fries stand. I tasted the fries and they were good! But you’ve got to hurry up because the stand won’t be there for long! The guy who owns the stand wants to retire soon, so hurry up!

3) Dawson Falls

Dawson Falls is a 20 meters high waterfall. Not quite impressive but still beautiful!

4) Helmcken Falls

Helmcken Falls is Canada’s 4th highest waterfall with a height of 141 meters. It is also the main waterfall everyone’s visiting in Clearwater. If you want, you can hike to Helmcken Falls, but when you’re in a tight time schedule like us, you can watch it from the parking.

5) Moul Falls

Moul Falls is a 35 meters high waterfall where you can go behind. The hike to the waterfall takes 2 hrs (return). You can enter the cave behind the waterfall by going to the left side of the waterfall. That will be your entrance and your exit!
