Cyprus is located just on the border of Asia and Europe and is, therefore, part of both continents. What you might not know is that the country is split into 2 parts: a Greek (south) and Turkish (north) part. The Turkish army invaded Cyprus and bombed several cities. Immediately after the invasion, the Turkish army sealed off the area with a wall. To this day there is still a UN buffer zone across the border but you don’t have to worry: Cyprus is in peace.

I haven’t visited the southern part yet but I heard it also has some beautiful spots to behold like Paphos, Aphrodite’s rock, and Olympus mountain.
