Whale tour in Campbell River | Canada
We went on a whale tour in Campbell River to see killer whales and humpback whales. Find out here what we’ve seen on the trip!
I only did 1 whale trip before this one at that was in Sri Lanka. There we saw 4 fin whales. But first things first.

Let’s go do some Whale Watching!
We first had to wear our life jacket-suits. These suits will keep us alive when we drop out of the boat. They are very heavy to put on, but when on they are quite cozy! Feels like I’m wearing my bedsheets as a suit.
1) Humpback Whale
We then had to pick up another family and when they were boarding the Zodiac, we saw our first Humpback Whale! We followed him for a while and then a second whale showed up. In the end, we eventually saw 6 humpback whales!
Fun Fact: When the whale is “waving” at you, he’s actually trying to change his course!
2) Bald Eagle
We arrived at our lunch spot but before we docked the boat, we watched the treeline filled with bald eagles! They were observing the water for food.
3) Sea Lion
After our lunch spot, we went back to the resting place of the sea lions.
4) Dolphins
Our last surprise of the day was a dolphin stampede! The boat was surrounded by dolphins. Everywhere you looked, fins would pop up!
We didn’t see Killer Whales but lucky for us we saw 3 killer whales when we were on the ferry. Would have loved it to see them from up close.
