Things to do in Bodrum

1) Mausoleum of Halicarnassus

Bodrum was once known as Halicarnassus when the Greeks ruled the city. The Mausoleum of Halicarnassus is the grave of King Mausolos and his wife. At one time in the world, it was even one of the seven wonders of the ancient world! But it collapsed due to an earthquake. The stones that were still usable were taken to build the castle of Bodrum.

2) Turkish Bath (Hamam)

Enjoy a Hamam! Hamam is a place of public bathing. First, you’ll go into a room heated by hot air. Continue by pouring cold water over yourself. After that, you’ll get a full-body wash with foaming soap. You’ll end the Hamam with a massage! This is all done whilst wearing your bathing clothes, of course.

3) Bodrum Castle

Go to the harbour to visit the Bodrum Castle. The castle was built in the 15th century to protect the city from pirates.

Price: 30 Lira

4) Theatre of Halicarnassus

Go check out the Greek theatre of Halicarnassus. The theatre is well preserved and is still being used in the summer for concerts!
