We decided to go to Krabi to avoid the many tourists that can be found in Phuket. So Krabi was our last stop in Thailand to fully relax. Here are my 10 must do’s for in Krabi.

1) Hong island tour
We decided to skip the Phi Phi Islands and go to the Hong Islands. So this tour we did included Hong Island, Koh Lao Lading and Hong Lagoon. Matt had to go to the toilet, so we first stopped at Hong Island instead of going to Koh Lao Lading. In doing so we actually avoided the big masses. Every time we left an island, the mass just arrived and when we would arrive somewhere, they were just leaving. Talking about luck…
Hong Island
To sum up, we were in awe when we walked around Hong island. Such beauty!
Sad Fact: There are poles on the island indicating how high the waves were when the Tsunami of 2004 hit. At hong island, it was more than 2 meters. You could even see an area where there were only new trees growing.

Koh Lao Lading
Our second stop was Koh Lao Lading. This island has a small beach with a swing. Cozy and fun.

Hong Lagoon
So we entered Hong Lagoon quite late so the tide was low. When we walked around the lagoon we spotted crabs and many birds.
2) Koh Poda
So just in front of Krabi Beach lies Koh Poda! An island that has white beaches and clear blue water. This was just a day of pure relaxing and thinking about nothing.

Fun fact: The photo on the bottom right was taken not knowing there was a fish in it. After looking at my footage I discovered the animal! His eyes are white, so creepy!
3) Tiger cave temple
After taking 1237 steps, you’ll be able to see a beautiful skyline of Krabi. The Tiger Cave Temple doesn’t contain any tigers but you may see some monkeys there. Some of our group did this hike, but Matt, Hamda an I decided to spend our day at the beach.
4) Nature Trail Krabi: Khao Ngon Nak Viewpoint
Khao Ngon Nak Viewpoint can be reached in a 2 hours hike. There is this rock where everyone wants to take a picture, that’s during the hike to this viewpoint. We didn’t have the time to do this and we also wanted to just have a day off.

When in Krabi and when in Thailand, enjoy yourself a
6) Be a mermaid
Be a mermaid and go into the water! Live that dream and be part of this world!
7) Sunset watching
Our second hotel in Krabi was at Ao Nang Beach (Krabi beach). This gave us the opportunity to watch beautiful sunsets and even a lightning show.
8) Ao Nang Beach (Krabi beach)
Take a walk at Ao Nang Beach. From the beach, you can spot Koh Poda island. You’ll pass a big statue of a swordfish which can be a meeting point. When going further to the north (or left side of Koh Poda), you’ll be able to take a walk through a jungle that finishes at a secret hotel and beach. This hotel is separated from the rest and can only be visited by boat or the walk through the jungle.
9) Be lucky
When we were at Koh Poda we were able to see a Halo. But we also saw one in the plane heading towards Krabi.
10) Go see a ladyboy show
We weren’t able to see such a show due to the high price in Krabi (go see one in Bangkok, way cheaper). The ladyboys will dress themselves up and flyer around the shopping street that is parallel to Ao Nang beach.

Misschien heb je al gehoord van Phuket, Manon? Iedereen gaat altijd naar die locatie waardoor krabi onbekend blijft en nog rustig is!
