Checklist: what to bring to a festival? Going camping at Pukkelpop, Rock Werchter, Pinkpop? Quickly review my festival camping packing list so you know what to wear and bring!

Clothing
- Backpack: Invest in a good backpack. I have an Osprey backpack of 40L that I always use with another bag for my sleeping bag and pillow. So maybe buy the 50L backpack if you know you’re an over packer.

- Warm sweater
- Thin fleece sweater
- Compact rain jacket
- lightweight poncho
- Footwear

- Daypack/purse
- Camping chair
- Trekking backpack: to carry all of these things from your car or on public transport!
- Sleeping mat
- Sleeping bag
- Pillow: I can’t sleep without a decent pillow, but you can have inflatable pillows as well!
- Tent: Make sure it’s a tent that blocks daylight so you don’t wake up at 5AM
- Party tent
- Camping cutlery: forgot these? Just ask for an extra fork from a food stand.
- Camping plates: unless you’re eating from your cup that comes with your instant meal 😉
- Cups
- Cool box and cooling elements

Hygiene & care
- Toothbrush & toothpaste
- Soap in small bottles
- Quick-drying towel
- Contraception
- Nail clippers: You never know if you need it!
- Comb or hairbrush (and elastic bands): the elastic bands can be handy if something breaks down as well (be inventive!)
- Feminine/Male hygiene products
- Earplugs
- First aid kit: Painkillers & medication
- Sunscreen
- Lip balm
- Tick remover
- Insect spray
- Toilet paper or wet wipes: those toilets are always a surprise in cleanliness

- Apple juice: for in the morning this is of course personal preference 😉
- Beer or other alcoholic drinks
- Coffee, tea or chocolate milk powder
Warning: Gas stoves, cooking stoves, and barbecues are usually strictly prohibited on the festival campsite for safety reasons. At some festivals, you can cook on gas stoves or barbecues in designated areas. At other festivals, such as Pukkelpop or Rock Werchter, you will find ‘cooking islands’ on the campsite with microwaves (don’t forget your microwave-proof pots!) and hot water for coffee; instant noodles, and biscuits, among other things. Check the website of your festival to see what is allowed.

Accessories
- Headlamp or flashlight: To navigate in your tent or navigate to the toilets in the middle of the night
- Powerbank: To charge your phone as it is drained by taking so many photos and videos during the festival
- Luggage lock
- Wallet
- Smartphone
- Pack of play cards
With this packing list for camping at a music festival, you’re ready for your festival! Enjoy!
