Kenya has a lot of safaris to offer, but how to choose the best & optimal safari itinerary? I traveled to Kenya for 2 weeks, and I’m sharing my itinerary based on all my experiences with you. I’ve also written a separate article with things to do and tips for each destination on this itinerary. Discovering Kenya has never been easier!
Transportation for this Kenya Itinerary
Most travellers fly into Moi International Airport (Mombasa) or Nairobi International Airport. We flew with Lufthansa Airlines from Brussels to Mombasa via Tanzania, where we could see Mount Kilimanjaro from the plane!
Tip: Booking early is often the cheapest option. Check now for a cheap ticket.

Popular transport includes minibuses, buses, trains, car rental, and private drivers. I recommend a private driver as it’s more comfortable and somewhat safer. If you plan to rent a car, road travel is safer during the day, and don’t stray off the road.
How many days do you need in Kenya?
A 7-day trip can cover a major safari in Kenya with a visit to Mombasa or Nairobi, while 10-14 days allows adding the coast or more parks. We stayed 14 days in Kenya and visited 3 safari parks, Mombasa, and Diani Beach.
Not much time? You can shorten the itinerary. I would then advise skipping Diani Beach and Amboseli National Park.
2-Week Kenya Itinerary
We started in Mombasa, went to the north to Tsavo East National Park, Amboseli National Park, and Tsavo West National Park. We ended our trip back in Diani Beach for some relaxation.
