HOTEL REVIEW Tapa Kawi Villas
My parents and I stayed at the Tapa Kawi Villas for 1 night (July). The hotel is near Ubud and the Tegalalang rice terrace. Here is my hotel review of the Tapa Kawi Villas.
The hotel was under construction so this review might be a bit outdated but the location of the hotel was not that great. It’s a 20 minute ride away from the center of Ubud. It’s great location if you want a view of the jungle from your window.
Reception
The reception is the first thing you’ll encounter. It’s very small but has all its necessities. On arrival, we had the pleasure of receiving a welcome drink and a cold towel. There should be a free shuttle bus to Ubud city but make sure to ask for its return (you’ll find out why later on in this article).
Restaurant & Breakfast
So we checked-in late at the hotel (around 8 PM). We wanted to eat immediately at the restaurant but the manager told us that it wasn’t possible because the hotel was in renovation (like what?). However, he told us we could use the free shuttle of the hotel to go to Ubud City (ride of 30 minutes). We agreed and asked when we could return with the shuttle bus to the hotel. Unfortunately for us, the shuttle bus doesn’t ride after 8 PM (second like what?) and he told us we had to buy a taxi. Eventually, after a discussion (at which the manager was rude to us when we complained about the room too) it was suddenly possible to eat at the restaurant. Weird. The only thing I can say was that the manager wasn’t able to handle stressful situations.
Bedroom
The bedroom is quite spacious. You have a lounge with sofas and a table, a large bed, and a closet. The only problem was once again a mattress on the ground while we paid for 3 persons in a luxury hotel. We had a discussion with the manager and he was so rude to us once again! He screamed that there were no rooms available and that we shouldn’t complain (even though we were the only guests at the hotel). Eventually, our driver talked to his boss and he eventually got me a villa of my own.
Fun fact: You have an open shower (no roof).
Fun fact: There is shampoo and body wash available.
Swimming pool
We had a private swimming pool and that was awesome! The water is quite cold but that’s the case in all the hotels of Bali. Every pool has a view over the jungle where you can see monkeys swinging from the branches. There are pool towels and sun loungers available.
So this was my Hotel Review of Tapa Kawi Villas. I hope I have given you a better look at the hotel.
